CAD Specialist for a leading automotive company in Toronto Please send resume to: resume2013@gc-employment.com with the title "CAD Specialist- Toronto" For further information contact Prabhjot Rayat 416-850-5060 Ext. 231 EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED • Post-Secondary degree in Mechanical engineering • Minimum 3 years’ experience in process development while working within the automotive industry • Minimum 1 year experience with the latest version of Unigraphics and Catia V5 CAD software modules: Design, drafting, customer environments and surfaces or automotive product design experience • Thorough knowledge of product design techniques, mechanical drawing standards and GD&T, • Good communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills • Working knowledge of standard program management tools and MS computer programs • Capable of using standard measuring equipment, vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, scientific calculators and have working knowledge of proper use of checking fixtures and attribute gauges and CAD systems JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Support the Program Managers and various departments via the CAD system • Creation of layouts, assembly and component part drawings utilizing GD&T standards • Exchanging data with customers and suppliers • Keeping appropriate records of sent and received part data files • Performing regular system backups and obsolete file archiving • Staying current with improvements in CAD systems • Initiating justification for upgrades to software and hardware to enhance performance of system and value to the customer • Interact directly with customer engineers to ensure all program expectations are met • Maintain ‘Master Timeline” on program and ensure that it is updated bi-weekly through life of the program • Develop and maintain APQP open issues list which will be used to track and bring to closer all issues which surround the program • Maintain “Program Status Matrix” for assembly and all component parts • Co-ordinate launch activities with Production and Materials departments to ensure smooth transition from PSO and SOP and into daily production • Utilizing continuous improvement methods, driven by Key Performance Indicators, it is the responsibility of the Program Manager to offset annual LTA price reductions through process improvement • TS16949 awareness and adherence • ISO14001 awareness and adherence • Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts awareness and adherence • Other duties as may be required Salary Negotiable
