Our client is a leading satellite products manufacturing company, currently looking for a Operations Supervisor to join the team.

Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Operations, this individual will be responsible for supervising the manufacturing and assembly through a group of team leads to achieve quarterly production objectives and schedule with strong drive on health and safety, quality and efficiency improvements.
Job duties:
· Communicate expectations; monitor and appraises job results; provide appropriate training and development; assists with interviews of new applicants and selection of new employees.
· Knows and follows the company’s human resources policies and procedures. Adheres to applicable employment laws.
· Trains personnel to work with assembly drawings, travelers, schematics, engineering drawings and established quality procedures along with all safety requirements.
· Monitors workflow outputs, sets group priorities, and identifies issues to ensure performance to schedule.
· Identifies, and solves problems while interacting closely with all departments to ensure shipment goals are met.
· Takes the lead to ensure Production Notifications are raised. Works closely with the manufacturing engineers and quality department on solutions to issues.
· Reads and interprets manufacturing routings and documents production results.
· Exemplifies and fosters teamwork within the company.
· Promptly responds to concerns, issues, and suggestions and acts to ensure positive employee relations.
· Ensure communication of key business objectives and customer issues to employees
· Drive initiatives to maximize employee contributions and drive improvements in product quality.
Job Requirements:
· Post-Secondary education required
· 3 years of experience in relevant field preferably a shop leadership position
· Must be able to work second shift
· Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
· Possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to effectively impact and influence others.
· Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, and standard cost systems
· Proficient in all Microsoft products and ERP system, SAP preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal and communications (written and verbal) skills.
· Excellent planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
· Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills required.
· Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools preferred
