Position Overview

The Dip Tank Operator is responsible for ensuring that all parts are cleaned and prepared for the paint department. Responsibilities will include the identification and discarding of defective products, performing all work in a safe manner, cleaning and maintaining equipment and assisting the paint department with tasks as needed.

 

Essential Job Function

·         Operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, or otherwise prepare items for application of paint.

·         Paint small items and apply touch-ups

·         Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment.

·         Mark, record and report defects

·         Clean and perform preparation of work-site.

·         Completes required job control, inventory and related reports (example: timecards)

·         Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a safe and professional manner.

·         Maintain a safe, clean and legally compliant workplace

·         Identify and document potential environmental and safety problems to members of the Joint Health & Safety Committee.

·         Maintain product quality

·         Operate various types of machinery as required

·         Knowledge of chemical application techniques.

·         Assist paint department when needed.

 

Requirements

·         3 years experience in manufacturing.

·         Experience using a spray gun considered an asset

·         Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner

·         Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams

·         Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work scheduld

·         Ability to lift objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labour

·         Attention to detail

Work Conditions

Employee may be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
Employee may be exposed to dust, hazardous chemicals and high levels of noise.
Employee may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings; may have long combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting.
Repetitive tasks within a fast-paced environment.
