IT Administrator

Our client is a leading quality manufacturer of automotive stampings and sub assemblies in Toronto.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

System, Network

1.     Monitor all servers performance, check errors log on a regular basis as scheduled

2.     Monitor all servers storage, space utilization and memory to ensure optimal performance and prevention to server down time. Initiate and plan for upgrade when it is required

3.     Ensure DNS is working and Email Exchange (receiving/sending) is running properly at all times

4.     Monitor network performance (internet connection, wifi) from time to time to ensure optimal performance in the office and plant area where some antennas for scanners are located

5.     Ensure Anti-virus and Firewall is on, working and updated when necessary

6.     Implement Helpdesk automated ticketing and tracking system. This system is able to generate report for further analysis on the issues

7.     Initiate and implement solution to permanently fix or minimize the issues reported through Helpdesk system

8.     Attend responsively to the helpdesk tickets in priority order, ensure there is no downtown in the production environment

9.     Set up new user accounts for email, VPN, account access/security/user permission for ERP, etc.

10.   Set up new workstation, laptop, landline phone system, connection for new smartphone, desktop printers/copiers/barcode printer, scanner, switch

11.   Monitor server’s back-up system (Unitrends) and perform daily off-site back up

12.   Perform monthly data archive system

13.   Log and update all changes to the server environment on a timely manner

14.   In the event there is an issue with server which cause down time, plan and consult with the Controller on the action plans before proceeding with the remedy actions (restore back-up, install patches, version upgrade, etc)

15.   Plan for server and system regular maintenance/upgrade and send out advance email notification

16.   Organize and maintain a clean, good and secured server and hardware room

17.   Develop and administer proprietary business information structure and policy, e.g. streamlining the departmental data storage and access system

18.   Determine system requirements, prepares upgrade proposals as necessary.

19.   Act as the primary contact in the sourcing and installation of the IT system while monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance

20.   Update knowledge for continuous improvement and implementation as it relates to the Company’s needs.

Hardware/Software

1.     Schedule and perform preventive maintenance program for the plant barcode printers

2.     Schedule and perform cleaning/housekeeping for the plant computers

3.     Troubleshoot, repair, send for service, or replace IT hardware as required (router, barcode printer, scanner, desktop, laptop, server, copier, etc). Liaises with outside technical support when required.

4.     Purchases, installs, maintain and upgrades software, such as Microsoft, anti-virus, firewall, Main Boss, Cad Key, Visio, QA Mini-Tab, Adobe Reader, Team Viewer, ADP Payroll, EZ Labour attendance, etc

5.     Maintain and update IT asset list as change arises

6.     Propose when there is a replacement required for the existing hardware

7.     Prepare work instructions and train associate as required on the recurring issues related to the hardware/software application.

ERP/Accounting System and Reporting

1.     Perform regular maintenance on the ERP system (Trans4M and Sun) to ensure optimal performance, e.g. purge Trans4M print hold files, barcode printer queue, etc

2.     Create new scan card for production associate

3.     Troubleshoot and contact ERP technical support to resolve issues around the ERP system/applications

4.     Design and improve database reporting to support day to day operation for other departments.

5.     Upload relevant information to the ERP system to enhance management reporting and analysis, e.g product info, budget data, etc

6.     Work with the Manager to explore from time to time the capability and functionality of the ERP applications to enhance business analysis tools and improve productivity

7.     Involve and support the development of Management Information System in accordance to the business and management needs

8.     Back-up role (as assigned) for Business System Analyst (IT, ERP related only)

 

Qualifications

Miinimum College or equivalent education in Information Technology or Computer Science

Hands on the computer, barcode label printer and other computer related hardware
Knowledge on Microsoft Outlook Exchange, Windows Server, Vmware
Knowledge on SQL, Unidata, ODBC, Report Manager, Crystal Report, etc.
Knowledge on programming language
Proficient MSOffice skills – Access, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
Basic ERP system knowledge & experience
Other

Salary: $55K-$60K
