Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Logging all IS requests and providing first level and possible second level support.

• Providing front line telephone and email tech support to technology users (hardware/software/networking /wireless devices)

• Makes an initial assessment of requests, attempting to resolve them or escalate them to second-level support personnel

• Tracks incidents and complaints contributes to problem identification keeps customers informed on request status and progress manages the request life-cycle, including closure and verification

• Maintains user/problem databases and support documentation

• Communicates planned and short-term changes of service levels to customers

• Provides the equipment and initial setup for new employees installs and upgrades OS, software on desktops and laptops

• Creates and updates Active Directory accounts

• Keeps track of the IT hardware inventory potential field work to resolve issues where applicable possibility of performing other duties as required or requested by management

REQUIREMENTS:

• Aptitude for learning software quickly with minimal instruction ability to work well in a team environment

• Strong customer service skills and orientation

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in hardware configuration/upgrade/troubleshooting/repair (desktops, laptops, peripherals) proficiency in OS and software

• Installation/upgrade/troubleshooting/repair good knowledge of networking, cabling, switching, NICs in order to troubleshoot connectivity issues

• Good knowledge of Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista, Exchange 2000/2003, Linux/UNIX knowledge in managing/troubleshooting Blackberry (all models) in a Blackberry Enterprise Server environment

• Participates in IT projects where required (some of them require after hours work)
