This position is for leading manufacturing company in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
This position reports to: General Manager
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Manages the marketing of new and existing packages as directed.
- Acts as primary marketing contact for specific product projects, providing sales support.
Develops and executes marketing programs for such products as necessary.
- Provides primary and secondary marketing tools (brochures, presentations, etc.) for the
sales force in order to generate additional beverage packaging product sales.
- Acts as primary contact for evaluation of new products and is responsible for evaluating
consumer perspectives of such products. Coordinates with R&D, market development, and
new product development to ensure new container ideas are properly assessed,
developed, and that there is a marketing strategy to bring them to commercial reality.
- Provides and/or presents marketing and innovation presentations to current or prospective
customers.
- Determines what marketing tools (brochures, website, advertising, promotional pieces) are
needed, coordinates with corporate public affairs or outside firms to have them executed
properly and maintains marketing materials in a central repository.
- Acts as primary marketing contact for evaluation of new products, and provides support
where necessary. Develops strategies to stay close to our customers’ marketing and
product innovation personnel.
- Develops and maintains contact with marketing contacts at our customers and prospects.
- Develops and maintains database of appropriate brand and other marketing contacts at
our customers for specific ideas.
- Acts as primary driver of our involvement in trade show participation and maintains
contact with industry organization.
Position Requirements:
- Broad training in a related professional field usually acquired through college level
education or work related experience.
- Job related experience for 5 years minimum, preferably in marketing for a food
service/food packaging company.
- Sales and marketing principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures, generally accepted managerial practices and procedures, production practices, legal practices, business principles and practices, and the international market
- Significant experience and/or relevant college or graduate level coursework in consumer product marketing, new product marketing plans, development of sales plans for new products, market research, marketing communications, and market intelligence.
- Ability to provide management review and control over sales and marketing work
concerned with the development/modification of products, structures, or processes
as part of the sales and marketing function.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage complex sales environments.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to influence others.
- Ability to manage a P&L, making appropriate trade-offs to achieve end results.
- Excellent project/process management skills.
- Sales skills including negotiation, account management, account penetration, strategic selling, category management and leading edge sales strategies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.
- 8-10 years previous sales experience with at least 4 years in food service/food packaging
channel.
- Experiencing managing broker organizations and/or direct sales in consumer goods.
- Approximately 30% travel required
