Cost Accountant_Scarborough

Our client is a family owned commercial bakery located in Scarborough. We are currently looking for a Cost Accountant reporting to the Controller. The incumbent will be responsible for assembling cost information, developing analyzes, and presenting findings to management for use in decision making and to complete the accounting functions of the Company in an accurate and timely basis within the framework of the objectives and policies.

Responsibilities:

Pricing

 Initiate pricing for NEW projects/products

 Maintain and update pricing for all customer accounts

 Perform customer account reconciliations

Billing of incurred costs

 Plant trials, sample shipments, testing, start- up costs

 Project Capital Spending

 SR&ED and other government grants

Operations

 System performance, labour analysis

 Batch conversion analysis, waste management

 Tracking of incentive program, wasted products

 Inventory reconciliation, GL/Bank reconciliation

 Accounts Payable –full cycle

 Bank deposits and GL posting, Petty Cash

 Other financial analysis and ad-hoc reports as required

Requirements:

 Working towards a CGA/CMA designation, preferably 2nd-3rd year

 Experience in cost accounting principles, practices and procedures, ideally within a Food

Manufacturing environment

 Experience in Sage Business Vision an asset

 Able to prepare financial information in a systematic manner

 Strong presentation skills with the ability to convey financial information to the management team

 Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

 Must possess strong business acumen
