Welding Technician

Our client is a leading quality manufacturer of automotive stampings and sub assemblies in Toronto. Currently we are looking for a Welding Technician to join the company.

• Able to program ABB MIG and spot welding robots for welding assembly.
• Able to manually run robot programs.
• Able to troubleshoot welding/robot issues.
• Able to perform repairs to weld tooling and robot performance issues within the weld cell
• Able to troubleshoot and improve cycle time issues within the weld cell.
• Able to perform changeovers and set up to achieve the quality standards required at the company.
• Able to read customer drawings for weld placement and weld length requirements.
• Able to visually identify poor weld quality and make the necessary adjustments.
• Helps to perform preventative maintenance on weld equipment and weld fixtures
• Able to discuss issues and receive suggestions with other team members of multiple disciplines including managers, supervisor and team leaders.
• Remains objective and performs with a positive attitude.
• Stores equipment and tools when not in use.
• Able to maintain a clean and safe workspace.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/PREREQUISITES

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of TS16949 policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of ABB robotics

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of Kuka Programming an asset
• Good part/process knowledge.
