Our client is a premier world manufacturer of innovative engine and transmission pumps and powder metal components to the global automotive marketplace.

Job Description:

Responsible for working as part of the Maintenance Department to produce quality parts at a low cost and on time to the customer. The incumbent’s primary responsibility is performing the tasks and duties that are required as part of your skills and abilities as required for machine repair and all plant equipment including plant utilities.

 

Responsibilities

§  Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.

§  Operational problem solving and seeking out continuous improvements to the process;

§  Duties encompass preventative maintenance, installations, troubleshooting, machine improvements and modifications.

§  Provide technical support to the Human Resources, Processes, Products and Equipment employed within the Division on a day-to-day basis.

§  Ensuring that a smooth “hand-off” occurs with technical team members on other shifts within the department, so that the communication and transition between shifts is constantly occurring

§  Participating in team meetings to review and resolve quality, service, operations, facilities, human resources and health and safety issues, when required

§  Assist in the training and development of new members of operations;
§  Participate in 5 “S” activities.

§  Work in compliance with Policies and Procedures

§  All other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

§  Team player with the ability to work with others in a team based environment;

§  Must have an Ontario Trade Certificate as an industrial electrician and have at least three years relevant work experience in a manufacturing facility.

§  Must have good trouble shooting knowledge of PLC’s, speed controls, CNC controls, and automation equipment.

§  Must be a reliable, mature individual with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

 

Shifts:

Continental night shift, 7PM – 7AM,  and every other weekend.  84 hours in a 2-week period and automatic 4 hours overtime every 2 weeks.  Any additional OT is paid at time and a half and anything after 55 hours is double time. 

Starting Salary for this position is 31.42/hour. Plus an additional $1.00/ hour for the continental night shift.
