Cutting Machine Operator (Night Shift) in North York

Our client in the furniture industry is looking for a Cutting Machine Operator - Night shift to join the team immediately.

FULL TIME JOB. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK 40 HOURS A WEEK.
NO CASH JOBS. SIN REQUIRED.

Location : North York (Dufferin and Steeles)

Night shift: Mon-Fri 5 pm-2:30 am

Pay rate: $18.60 + 4% vacation pay = $19.34 an hour

Job Duties and Requirements

  • Operate CNC cutting machines using provided software (keyboard and mouse).
  • Load cutting programs, monitor progress, and stop/start machines as required.
  • Oversee proper feeding of perforated paper, fabric rolls, and protective plastic sheeting.
  • Remove scrap materials (plastic, paper, and off-cuts) using scissors and place into bins for disposal.
  • Collect finished cut pieces and place them on tables for transfer to sewing.
  • Monitor quality during cutting and verify accuracy against work orders.
  • Maintain a clean and safe cutting area.

Job Qualifications

  • Secondary School or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year in machine operation and plant sanitization
  • Able to do heavy lifting up to 50lbs
  • Good mechanical knowledge is an asset
  • Knowledge of small tools and light assembly
  • Safety shoes and safety glasses are required
