Leading event rental compnay is looking for a Driver Lead to join the team in North York. 

Job Brief
We are looking for an onsite lead to join the team to ensure the client experience is stress free and efficient. Responsibilities would include overseeing the installation of rental furniture in various venues to client’s specs with a goal to increase efficiency, quality, accuracy.

Job Type: Permanent, full-time 
Hourly Rate: $30/hr – Opportunity for overtime

Must be flexible to work in the late evening, weekend, and holiday whenever the event happens. 

Responsibilities

• Drive trucks ranging from 3-ton trucks to 5-ton trucks in accordance with company safety policies and practices.
• Safely loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients in a timely manner
• Review schedule and logistics of installation with internal office team to ensure clients objectives are met
• Serve as first point of contact, ensuring safe practices and company policies are followed by all onsite crew members
• Professionally lead crew in distribution of furniture throughout event site
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, and the customer is satisfied onsite
• Responsible for overseeing the quality of the installation and final walk through.
• Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills to accurately follow delivery and pickup schedules and timelines allotted after the event
• Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and handling complaints from clients.
• Maintain a professional appearance and polite and courteous demeanor while interacting with professional clients – customer service is a priority
• Assists with installations of furniture according to floor plans/client direction when required
• Flexible with work schedule, include days, weekends, and some evenings

Requirements

• Full G Class drivers with at least two years of straight truck experience with a clean drivers abstract
• Excellent communication skills, organizational and management skills.
• Solution driven, responsible and customer oriented.
• Must be able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift or carry items up to 70lbs
• Knowledge and ability to adhere to workplace safety precautions.

Preferred assets

• Experience as a residential or commercial mover
• Experience in the special events, moving furniture or hospitality industries
• Knowledge of local docks, local venues including hotels, convention centres
