Global Operations / Supply Chain Manager

Our client is a fast-growing cosmetics manufacturing company located in North York.

Working Location: North York, ON

Salary: Up to $85K 

We’re looking for a Global Operations/Supply Chain Manager with primary accountability to ensure day-to-day, end-to-end logistics management. This involves daily decision-making, planning, and inventory management, as well as proactive review and suggestions on process improvement.

The Global Operations Manager is responsible for assisting in logistical functions associated with domestic and international inbound and outbound delivery of finished goods and promotional items, as well as managing the production planning and execution of orders. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inbound PO’s, providing on-time updates to internal customers, entering data, solving issues, providing ETA information to our vendors, stores and warehouses and following up, while ensuring on-time delivery.

Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee open orders and prioritize customer orders while respecting customer deadlines and ensuring all orders meet minimum fill rate requirements.
  • Ensure the Production team manufacture finished goods in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet shipping deadlines.
  • Resolve Manufacturing/Production issues to meet all objectives, including Efficiencies,
  • Quality standards, Safety standards and Customer Service Levels, Plant absolute/net attainment.
  • Ensures all documentation and processes are handled accurately and according to both internal Quality System procedures and external regulatory requirements.
  • Tracks and resolves problems involving damaged or poor-quality goods, incorrect orders, and missing goods and the quick reporting of such issues to QA, Finance,
  • Production and Purchasing Departments accordingly.
  • Manage the shipping department and the daily Logistics activities of transportation, import/export, customs compliance, shipping, receiving, and inventory control in a manner that provides an uninterrupted flow of material to all customers.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with carriers, 3PL providers, brokers, customs, regulatory and government agencies, working collaboratively to ensure issue-free border crossings, on-time arrival, and cost-effective operations.
  • Utilize quantitative skills to analyze, validate, manipulate and manage large amounts of data specific to problem-solving and trend analysis reporting.
  • Define a usable set of supply chain, inventory and cost improvement KPIs that are complimentary for each team and aligned to objectives; Develop the KPIs to ensure they reflect current performance, are used to identify issues and tracking to objectives and that help prioritize improvements.
  • Identify potential cost savings opportunities based on process, past acquisition costs and implement process changes to realize savings; identify other potential cost savings opportunities based on past consumption and spend for potential cost reductions.
  • Analyzes, recommends and implements plans to improve process flows, optimize the utilization of staff and resources, and reduce supply chain operating costs.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Business Management, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience working in Logistics and Customs ComplianceKnowledge of global logistics practices required
  • Experienced with Customs Brokerages and international transportation/logistics experience with an excellent understanding of import/export regulations
  • Knowledge of Canadian, U.S. and Global Regulations in relation to the cosmetics industry an asset
  • Demonstrated business knowledge and experience meeting project objectives
  • Knowledge of SAP ECC/APO/BI in Supply Chain through formal training and experience an asset
  • Ability to work independently in a flat, entrepreneurial-minded organization with minimal hierarchy
  • Demonstrated interpersonal competence including reliability, consistency, flexibility and adaptability in day-to-day interactions
