Our client, a leading cosmetic company is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join their growing team in North York.
Working Location: North York, ON.
The Senior Financial Analyst is a member of our business team, he/she will be part of a fast-paced, energetic environment where he/she will play a key role supporting the finances, reporting, HR, and operations of our organization. Ongoing accountabilities include financial reporting, financial planning, data consolidation and analysis, budgeting, accounting and control, accounts receivable/payable and inventory management.
Other specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Financial Planning and Business Analysis:
- Conduct basic to complex processes and data analysis. Compile and analyze information, design and prepare spreadsheet and data queries.
- Support with the development and tracking of key business metrics.
- Review and maintain the Company's cash flow, including forecasting, planning, and management.
- Assist with the preparation of sales budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis of reporting requests from various departments and stakeholders
Accounting and Administration:
- Financial reporting includes account analysis, physical inventory control, internal controls, preparation of government remittances, forecasting/budgeting, maintaining of capital and fixed assets.
- Support purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, systems and processes to ensure the integrity of transactions in compliance with policies, guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Evaluate transactions and record to the general ledger to ensure financials are accurate and complete
System Improvements
- Automation and integration of business processes.
- Analyze internal business procedures and determine the appropriate modifications to be applied to the ERP system or other software.
- Troubleshoot system process and systems issues within NetSuite and connections to other 3rd party EDI / Warehousing systems.
- Generate Standard Operating Procedures as required to inform and educate on new processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other specific experience and qualifications include:
- Post-secondary degree in Finance, Commerce, or Accounting.
- Professional accounting designation or currently in pursuit of CPA
- Strong internal finance skills including, but not limited to, budgeting and planning, financial systems, management reporting, internal and external controls and accounting.
- 3-5 Years experience in Finance department in CPG or Manufacturing industries
- Deep understanding of standard business processes and accounting impact.
- Excellent computer and technical skills; understanding of computer science and programming is preferred
- Advanced experience in MS Excel, creating and working with complex worksheets (macros, pivot tables).
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system is preferred
