EHS and Quality Coordinator

Our client, a leading manufacturer of food packaging, is looking for an EHS and Quality Coordinator to join their team. 

Location: Summerstown, ON

Salary: Hourly based (depends on experience)

Department: EHS and Quality

Reporting to: Plant Manager

Position Overview: 

The EHS Coordinator functions to maintain the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, including the overseeing of Training and Inspections, as per the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). To maintain the Food Packaging programs under the AIB, American Institute of Baking.

Primary Responsibilities:

EHS:

• Manage the incident investigations and Follow-up and Reporting
• Knowledge of H&S or in training
• Work with Departments to Develop Procedures and Safe Work Instruction
• Work with the Single Point Accountable personnel, who perform inspections
• Report EHS Metrics, as required by the company
• Function as Liaison with regulatory
• Develop Food Packaging procedures and GMPs(Good Manufacturing Practices)

Quality:

• Report Quality Metrics, as required by the company
• Develop, deploy and maintain the plant's quality and continuous improvement systems.
• Regularly collect, analyze, summarize and report process quality information to all levels in the organization.
• Develop and implement quality policies, procedures.
• Provide technical support, expertise in statistical methods, continuous process improvements to plant population.
• Manage data gathering software, including procurement, installation, programming & end-user training and Provide analysis of data.

Knowledge and Skills: 

• Have a basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and safety act for Ontario. 
• MTraining in document development, including writing SWIs, JSAs, GMPs
• Must have an understanding of WHMIS, TDGA(Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act – Canada)
• Must have practical experience in the Windows environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

• Diploma or Degree in a related field
• Minimal experience but interested in stepping into the field
