HR Manager

Leading Automotive Manufacturing company is looking for an HR Manager to join the team in Etobicoke location. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: 

  • Provide leadership and coaching to managers and employees on key workplace matters such as performance management, employee relations, and employee development
  • Act as a strategic and operational business partner to supervisors and managers
  • Promote an open-door policy and communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Proactively identify recruitment needs and support recruitment efforts as required
  • Ensure the new hire orientation process properly introduces new employees to plant and corporate culture
  • Maintain fairness, equity and respect in the workplace
  • Actively promote, follow, and enforce all security and safety practices
  • Respond to employee and management requests in a timely manner
  • Payroll and benefits administration, including preparing payroll files for processing
  • Oversee the administration of the performance management process
  • WSIB and disability management
  • Health and safety leadership and participation
  • Support and deliver department related KPI’s (turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an HR Manager, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry (or light/medium manufacturing)
  • HR Certification or Diploma (CHRL designation is an asset)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian employment laws, ESA Standards
  • Working knowledge of health and safety law/legislation
  • Ability to coordinate and plan resources to achieve strategic goals
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with HR manufacturing practices
  • Experience in payroll systems (ADP) is preferred
  • Experience in disability management, WSIB, STD and LTD
  • Proficient in creating HR reports, statistics, KPIs
  • Demonstrated training and development skills
