Materials Manager - Automotive

Leading automotive manufacturer looking for a Materials Manager to start as soon as possible. This is a world-class provider of metal stampings and subassemblies to the automotive manufacturers and other select industries.

• Working location: Scarborough, ON
• Salary:  $80k-85k
• Full-time, perm role
• Reporting to the Plant Manager

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for coordinating the activities of the Materials department including customer service, purchasing, scheduling and shipping/receiving functions
• Maintain 100% delivery rating and 99% inventory accuracy through a regular cycle count program
• Procure raw material in a timely fashion to avoid production downtime
• Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and delegating work accordingly 
• Prepare for and execute physical inventories
• Plan the department's workload and flow
• Assist Sales Department with the quoting process
• Ensure competitive transportation costs and submit cost reduction initiatives for the department
• Attend monthly associate meetings and ensure that all associates comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
• Communicate engineering change information to all affected personnel to ensure quality shipments
• Manage the MRP system
• Oversee compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
• Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback, coaching, and formal evaluations

Qualifications

• University Degree or College Diploma in a Supply Chain Management field
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Materials Supervisor preferably in stamping and
  welding facility.
• Excellent working knowledge of ERP systems.
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Excellent planning & organizational skills.
• Possess good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Must be able to lead and motivate all associates.
