General Cleaner - Etobicoke - $18.36

We have an opening for a Cleaner/General Helper at our one of the clients in Etobicoke location.

Pay Rate: start at $17.66, and will increase after 6 and 12 months

Major Intersection: Finch and Hwy 27

Shift: Flexible to work rotating shifts (day, afternoon, night) OR straight night shift, plus overtime as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

• Actively participate to maintain product quality and food safety program practices including: BRC, HACCP, QA / QC, GMP, Sanitation and good hygiene practices.
• Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining health and safety program practices including safe lifting, lock-out/tag-out, incident prevention and personal safety practices.
• Sweep, mop and vacuum the entire factory including the mezzanines.
• Collects and disposes of garbage throughout entire factory.
• Collect cardboard and strapping in storage rack area.
• Collect and dispose of necessary items and garbage in areas in the factory and around production.
• Follow master sanitation schedule (CEP’s program).
• Vacuum and clean Vittoria roaster, all multiports, pits and dust collectors.
• Change filters for blower systems and dust collectors.
• Clean / wash guard rails, electrical panels, fire extinguishers and walls according to the work order process.
• Routine maintenance (dust collectors etc.) as scheduled by the Maintenance Manager or Planner.
• Fill in for other job functions as required.

Requirements:

• Flexible to work rotating shifts (day, afternoon, night) OR straight night shift, plus overtime as needed
• Experience in food processing or related industry considered an asset
• Must pass company administered skilled competencies tests.
• Ability to identify non-standard situations and/or issues and report to Lead Hands, Planner or Manager.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Work in compliance with OHSA, wear PPE and report any contraventions of the act.
• Frequent lifting and bending are required. May lift 35 - 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
• Must understand and interpret instructions, directives and processes on a daily basis.
• Work outside in external environment, based on duties and time of year can be cold or extremely warm.
