Financial Accountant

Our client, a Toronto-based private equity firm, is looking for a highly motivated Accounting professional to join their Finance and Accounting team. 

Full-time, perm role

Location: Toronto, ON

Salary: $50K-$65K, based on experience

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

Summary: The Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting for existing operating companies and will get the opportunity to work on start-ups in exciting new industries.

Job Responsibilities:

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable (invoicing and collections)
• Bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
• Payroll processing and reporting
• Credit card reconciliations
• Sales tax reporting
• Month end journal entries and reconciliations
• Assisting with implementation of accounting processes and policies
• Adhoc projects as required
• Potential of increased responsibilities with excellent performance

Job Requirements:

• Completion of post-secondary education (accounting preferred)
• Minimum one-year relevant accounting experience
• Must be proficient in QuickBooks and Excel
• Driven, self-starter, goal-oriented, and someone who can work independently
• Strong oral and written skills; excellent organization skills required
• Willing to work additional hours during busy periods such as month end
• Highly flexible in adapting to the needs of the team and organization
