Tool and Die Maker

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing company is looking for a Tool and Die Maker to join their team. 

Location: Concord, ON,

Salary: $34/hour

Specific Skills / Trade or Knowledge:

• Organizational skills related to the safe and efficient use of the tool room equipment and its personnel.
• Ability to read CMM reports and make sound judgements.
• Ability to assume responsibility and decision making in the absence of management.
• Capable of maintenance of large complex tooling.
• Ability to independently set up, calibrate and run machines.
• Familiarity with ISO/TS 16949 requirements in accordance with Tooling Management.
• Good organizational and leader ship skills.

 
Responsibilities

Safety

• Must abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations
• Must abide by all Safety Policies and Procedures
• Must abide by the Environmental Policy along with the “3R” (reduce, reuse and recycle) procedures
• Must report all unsafe acts at all times
• Must participate in plant meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
• Must complete all requirements as outlined in the HR Training Matrix, HRS-F001
• Must contribute to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act  by ensuring the principles of the 6S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize, support and safety) are supported and adhered to.

Quality

• Must abide by all Quality Policies and Procedures
• Must adhere to all customer requirements as required
• Must report all quality deficiencies at all times

 
Day to Day Responsibilities

• Die maintenance, repair, improvement and die build/construction.
• Engineering change, general maintenance, trouble shooting and welding.
• Prototype, build jigs, fixtures and gauges.
• Maintaining spare tooling/components.
• Adherence to company rules and regulations.
• A knowledge and understanding of the quality requirements and procedures of the company.
• Safe working habits and the safety of fellow employees.
• Good housekeeping of work area(s).
• Working in the most cost effective manner.

Related Work Experience/Requirements:

• Must have own transportation
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Must be able to work all shifts
• Must be able to read, speak and write English
   

Education:

• Ontario Licensed Tool and Die Maker – Certificate of Qualification OR minimum 10 years Tool and Die Maker
• Minimum Grade 12 Education
