Banking Operations Officer II

Our client, a leading Canadian banking institution, is looking for a Banking Operations Officer to join their team. We are looking for Credit Administration area is responsible to review/release wire payments that stop in Credit Hold.

 

Contract term:05/03/2018 to 04/03/2019 (1 year), possible extension and conversion

Pay rate: $17.34/hr

Full time: 37.5 hours

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:30am - 4:00pm , 8:00am - 4:30pm, 10:00am -6:30pm, 10:30am -7:00pm (flexibility to work within this time frame)

 

Must have:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Computer savvy with professional level MS suites
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills (e.g. Comfortable & confident communicating...)

Summary: The Payment Control - Credit Administration area is responsible to review/release wire payments that stop in Credit Hold. Credit Administration system and control functions are managed to ensure valid credit lines as approved by Credit Risk Management are in place. Wire payments queued in Credit Hold in the Integrated Payment System (IPS) are managed and escalated when there is insufficient funds and/or valid credit lines to obtain Credit Risk Management approval prior to payment final release.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payments in IPS Credit Hold status by verifying and updating account balances
  • Ensure sufficient funds and/or valid credit line approval from Credit Risk Management is in place and updated accordingly on our systems. 
  • Ensure SLA’s are met and contribute to the department operating efficiency by maintaining the workflow and prioritizing effectively.
  • Maintain strict control over area records of credit facilities available by following up for renewal as required and continually analyzing
  • credit limits to ensure they satisfy bank requirements
  • Provide input to Credit Risk Management on new and renewed facilities as required
  • Communication with Global Transaction Banking department and other areas of the bank is required
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, promote team effectiveness and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Provide training, procedural guidance and resolution to team members.
  • Assist with process implementations including statutory holiday coverage
