Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing company is hiring a quality manager to join their growing team which is located at Scarborough, ON.

Location: Scarborough, ON

Salary: $90K - $100 K

 

Job Summary

The Quality Manager ensures that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with
legislation, IATF 16949:2016 standards and customer specifications. This individual is responsible for
managing the organizations quality assurance policies. The Quality Manager will also establish
performance standards, procedures, and audit controls in order to meet business requirements, as well as
identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of
company operations.

Job Duties

·      Accountable to provide leadership to all associates and manage the activities of the Quality

·      Department

·      Accountable for development, implementation, auditing and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.

·      Manage the plant quality system to ensure all quality activities are met to IATF 16949:2016 requirements.

·      Manage Quality department personnel by defining roles and responsibilities to meet customers’expectations, establish goals, and manage performance.

·      Comply with all quality requirements such as PPAP, APQP, FMEA's and Control Plans.

·      Establish communicate and post in plant key measurables. Incl. Cost of quality,

·      Establish quality budgets.

·      Respond to customer related issues in the proper format. (ie 8-D) within the required time frame.

·      Assign duties and responsibilities to your team members and follow-up.

·      Maintain proper documentation pertaining to Customer and Supplier requirements.

·      Issue corrective actions and follow-up to completion.

·      Communicate company polices and direction to your team.

·      Provide leadership to the manufacturing group regarding the customers’ perspective and expectations of quality.

·      Establish good communications systems within the department, the plant, management and with customers.

·      Lead and train in deep dive root cause analysis using industry accepted methods and statistical tools to determine true failure. Make informed decisions based on data. Develop good customer relations.

·      Coordinate activities with outside customers, suppliers and contractors as necessary.

·      Prepare and present customer technical presentations as required.

 

Job Requirements

·      University or College degree in Engineering / Quality

·      Demonstrated planning and system implementation ability.

·      Experience, training in Toyota TPM, Honda Lean Manufacturing System and or Six Sigma.

·      Strong tooling background (Tool and Die Qualification preferable, Die design).

·      5 – 10 years management experience.

·      5+ years’ experience in the automotive industry.

·      General understanding of lean principles and how it applies to our environment.

·      Must have LEAN or Process Improvement Implementation experience.

·      Experience in automotive requirements and standards, PPAP submission, Control Plan & PFMEA

·      development, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance), SPC (Statistical Process Control) andProcess Capability Study

·      Strong / methodical problem-solving skills – proficient in the 8D method and 5P method.

·      Excellent knowledge of IATF 16949:2016

 

Work Conditions

 Some Travel will be required.
