Job Description Essential Functions:  Overall responsibility to develop, implement and maintain the organizational Quality Assurance program, to ensure that all products meet the requirements of drawing or specifications, and the quality standards and requirements of the division, corporation and of the customer.  As QS 9000 / TS 16949 Management Representative responsible to ensure that a quality system is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with QS-9000 / TS 16949, to report on the performance of the quality system to the General Manager / Assistant General Manager and to liaise with external parties on matters relating to company’s quality system.  Ensures that employees reporting to him/her directly adhere to the policies and standards set forth in the Employee Handbook and keeps Performance Binder up-to-date which includes: • Monitoring attendance • Keeping record of training • Conducting regular and timely performance reviews • Entering any other information into the Binder that is relevant to the employee’s • Performance  Liaises with Management, Production Department, Engineering Department, Paint Department, Materials Department and Human Resources to ensure effective flow of information.  To manage the Quality Assurance program, including the inspection and testing of incoming, in process and final products. To develop standard, systems and procedures as required.  Review quality records, customer complaints, process and inspection records, audit results, NMR logs and deviation records to analyze, detect and implement the necessary preventive actions to eliminate potential causes of nonconformities.  Provide quality education and training of all personnel.  Assists in the implementation and training of plant personnel in S.P.C.  To deal directly with customers on product concerns; investigate and report on findings, including recommendations of corrective action for concern resolution.  Attend control plan meetings and translate requirements into plant systems and procedures.  Prepare annual budget for department. Ensure company and department is properly equipped. Prepare necessary purchase requisitions.  Conduct regular customer plant visits to anticipate and resolve line concerns.  Act as the primary contact for customers during surveys.  Writes and implements any BOS/desk procedures relating to the quality department.  Perform employee safety observations.  Comply with Sections 25, 26 & 27 of the OHSA.  Perform regular workplace inspections.  Conduct regular safety talks.  Be involved with accident/incident investigation program.  Correct unsafe acts or conditions.  Commend or correct health and safety performance.  Responsible for part quality and has the authority to stop production, if required, to correct quality problems.  Responsible for proper handling, storage and disposal of all chemicals, used materials and equipment.  Conduct Customer Specific Requirements for Layered Process Audit.  Conduct New Employee training verification.  Conducting performance appraisals for Worker’s Safety performance.  Train new employee of Job Specific Hazards.  Adhere to all rules and regulations as outlined in the Company’s Employee Handbook.  Adhere to all applicable Business Operating Systems Procedures.  Any other reasonable request made by Management.
