Sr. Production Safety Engineer

Our client, a global leader in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, Product Safety, Laser and LED optical radiation safety testing, regulatory affairs and certification, has positions open in Gormley,ON, Canada for a Sr. Product Safety Engineer

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 Business development and leadership in assigned region (Quebec)

 Act as Product Safety Engineer for our client company; evaluation and certification & testing for
conformity assessment with national & international regulations.

 Perform Factory Inspections and field evaluation services to NFPA, UL, ANSI and CSA
requirements

 Preparation of technical reports and documentation for certification to the appropriate standards.
Constructional Review, Testing, Preliminary Evaluations and Certifications activities.

 Correspond, orally, and in writing, with Product Safety Agencies such as UL, CSA and VDE with
respect to Product Design Approaches for Safety.

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

 A BS in Electrical Engineering is required, or equivalent.
 A minimum of 3 years Product Safety experience is preferred, understanding of HV & power
supplies desired
 Experience with certification bodies (UL, CSA, TUV) is preferred.
 Knowledge of European directives and standards such as IEC 60950-1, IEC 61010-1 and/or IEC
60065-1.
 Knowledge of Windows, MS Office and electronic mail necessary. 2-4 years experience in
materials technology or within equipment manufacturing industries.
