POSITION SUMMARY: We are searching for a high performance individual with experience in a progressive molding, filling, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing plant operations. The Operations Manager is responsible for the production operations of a mid sized high speed manufacturing facility to ensure that all key plant objectives are met. This position requires hands on leadership, sense of urgency combined with technical experience in product quality assurance, knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and experience in liquid product packaging standards. This position is directly responsible for oversight of day-to-day activities within the production environment. Must possess the ability to be a strategic business partner with internal and external customers, suppliers, and peers throughout the organization. Excellent interpersonal skills are required and the ability to drive continuous improvement activities utilizing individuals from various levels and functions within the organization. ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Manages plant production operations from raw material deliveries through conversion and shipment to our customers, focusing on key financial, quality, safety and service metrics. • Manages capital projects and assists in facility and process improvement activities. • Formulates action plans to improve performance in quality, customer service, reliability, safety and waste management. • Capable of managing production operations of a 24hour/5 day 3 shift production facility. • Manages all aspects of personnel performance, staffing, training and discipline. • Encourages and promotes a plant culture of Continuous Improvement and Employee Involvement. • Ensures that proper levels of Health & Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, housekeeping, and quality are maintained at all times. • Provides strategic direction for plant production improvement priorities. QUALIFICATIONS • 10+ years management experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in the Chemical or Food, or Plastics industry • Working knowledge molding and liquid filling plant operations is an asset • Experience in process improvement • Extensive experience in dealing with Union employees • Lean manufacturing would be an asset but not a must • Bi-Lingual is an asset • Knowledge of industry best practices/Lean/ GMPs • Must have Excellent Leadership & Communication skills • Ability to work in a fast paced environment • Must be results oriented with a bias for action • Personality needs to be highly assertive but still very good on the people side of things • Strong Computer skills is an asset Location: Concord Compensation: 90 – 100k
