Mechanical /Electrical Assembler

Our client, a leading satellite device manufacturing company, is currently looking for Assemblers to join the team. 

Temp to perm full-time position

Pay rate: $15.50/hr, negotiable 

Working location: Whitby, ON

Rotation shifts:  2 weeks days, 2 weeks afternoon

Position Overview
The Electrical-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling parts and components
including the set-up, operation and maintenance of complex and simple machinery. The
assembler will be responsible for installing, fastening and aligning various parts and components
on assemblies using hand and small power tools; utilizing crane and hoists to position, wiring
and testing, troubleshooting and diagnosing defective components.
Essential Job Function
• Assemble parts according to specifications using assembly drawings, electrical
schematics and assembly instructions.
• Fit parts to very close tolerances and operating requirements.
• Use of hand and power tools such as soldering gun, drills and precision measuring
equipment.
• Use multimeters to check electrical continuity
• Electrical testing and troubleshooting
• Electrical wiring and cable termination
• Completes required job control, inventory, and related reports (example: timecards).
• Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
• Maintain and adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches to
assemblies;
• Perform all duties in accordance with health and safety safe work requirements;
• Any other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
• Completion of Secondary School diploma or equivalent work experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical and electrical
assembly experience.
• Understanding of electrical techniques preferred
• Mathematically inclined
• Attention to details
• Ability to understand blueprints and other technical drawings.
• Excellent time management and project management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of electronic components an asset
• Strong analytical and critical thinking ability
• Strong problem solving skills

• High attention to detail

• Ability to work in isolation or with a team
• Willingness to extend knowledge and ability in the role

 

Work Conditions
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required
• Manual lifting of various weighted products may be occasionally required
• Use of personal protective equipment may be required
• Overtime work may be required
