Tax Analyst, Estates & Trust

Our client is a leading Canadian Bank. 

Location: Vancouver, BC

01/15/2018 to 04/30/2018

Rate: $18.50+/hr depends on experience

Hours: 8:30-5:00 (Note: Overtime may be required) Flexibility to work up to 60 hours during Tax Season. 1 weekend shift may be required but not a late shift just during the day.

Working in a team of 26 relationship managers, CA and Tax Clerks and Analyst.

Tax Services provides tax return preparation and planning for estates and trusts; high net worth individuals and their families. Tax Services also provides bookkeeping and corporate tax services for clients with investment holding companies.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Regional Tax Manager, with operational oversight by a Senior Tax Consultant, the Analyst is primarily responsible for the preparation of Personal (T1), Trust (T3) and Terminal/Estate (T1D/T3F) returns; for a section of accounts administered by a Senior Tax Consultant. The position also entails assisting the Senior Tax Consultant in the relationship management of the assigned client files.

Key accountabilities include:

• Preparation and filing of basic to complex personal, terminal (i.e. date of death), trust/estate for assigned clients in a timely and accurate manner.
• Handling and responding to tax correspondence for assigned clients.
Performing other duties and special projects as assigned, including filing.
• Contact client or internal partner for missing information required for return preparation.
• Staying abreast of tax developments.

 

Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:

• Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA), preferred.
• Trust & Estate Practitioner Designation (TEP), an asset.
• Experience with CCH TaxPrep, CRA Represent a Client and MS Office.

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Minimum two years, recent experience in a professional tax services environment (i.e. tax services company, trust company or public accounting firm) preparing inter-vivos/testamentary trust (T3), and personal (T1) income tax returns for HNW individuals and deceased taxpayers (T1D);
• Effective time management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Fluency in French, an asset.
