Customer Services Supervisor/ Front Desk Manager


Our client is looking for a Front Desk Manager to work in hospitality field in Guelph.

Location: Silvercreek and Speedvale, Guelph

Pay rate: $20/hr+

Full-time, permenant position

Day shift, 7am - 3pm

To ensure efficient operation of the front office departments including front desk, night audit, reservations. The Guest Services Manager is to maintain control of and oversee these areas through established systems and procedures while being hands-on in all operations and continually monitoring for alternatives, improvements and new trends.

Also responsible for maximizing daily revenue to meet the set budget by prospecting new clients, applying yield management to the room rates on a daily basis and turning walk-ins and callers into hotel guests.

This position is also responsible for the well-being and satisfaction of guests from arrival to departure and strives for service excellence. He/She is also responsible for implementing and supervising various training programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-- Fluency in English
-- Minimum four years experience in a computerized front office, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
-- Excellent interpersonal, management, communication, and training skills.
-- Well-versed at rate negotiations and finalizing room sales and training team in sales.
-- Knowledge of Property Management System, Central phone system is required
-- Knowledge of other computer skills e.g. Microsoft Office, Door Lock System and GDS is a must.
-- French is an asset.

JOB DUTIES:

-- Implement and follow policies and procedures and standards set by Choice Hotels International, responsible for making and updating policies and procedures for day to day operations of the front desk.
-- Responsible to meet and exceed set budget on a daily basis by applying sales techniques e.g. yield management.
-- Train staff in up-selling and cross selling, identify potential markets to tap into.
-- To take responsibility for the efficient operation of the front office by getting actively involved in all aspects of operations.
-- To provide training and assistance to all departmental employees.
-- To enter and maintain configuration data in the front office property management system, phone system and call accounting system, the fax, Reservation and GDS systems, and Microsoft Office.
-- Responsible for the proper handling of cashier floats, auditing procedures.
-- To build a proper rapport with group conveners for utmost guest satisfaction and return.
