Fundraising Coordinator / Donations Administrator​

Canadian Research Institute is looking for an Operations Coordinator, to work with the Advancement Department to provide operational and campaign support to meet our program goals and objectives.

This is a full-time position in Downtown Toronto. 

The individual will be responsible for providing operational and administrative support with lead responsibilities for data management, gift processing and donor mailings, and is a strategic member of the Department.

  • Responsible for fundraising campaigns, assist in developing fundraising letters; research potential donors; submit and prepare proposals.
  • Receive and monitor donations from all sources
  • Work with Finance Department to ensure revenue is deposited quickly and accurately
  • Issue official receipt documents for all gifts
  • Assist with event activity, sending and following up on invitations, participating in events in an assigned role, executing event attendee follow-up activities
  • Work with Campaign Managers to customize packages of printed materials 
  • Write introductory donor letters and follow-up donor’s correspondence.
  • Arrange staff travel and accommodations
  • Arrange staff professional development activities e.g. registering for conferences, webinars, etc.
  • Scheduling Department team meetings and taking minutes
  • Track department expenses and cheque requisitions for invoice payments
  • Coordinating team member registrations for program meetings
  • Provide administrative support, performs other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • University degree required, Fundraising diploma/certificate an asset
  • Must have 1 - 2 years’ experience in fundraising experience
  • Strong knowledge of data management and experience with CRMs. (Salesforce.com experience an asset)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of various methods of fundraising campaigns and strategies
  • Bilingual – French/English would be an asset
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
