Pricing Analyst

Our client is a leading plastic, paper, and aluminum food packaging products manufacturer.

Location: Richmond Hill, ON

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The Pricing Analyst is responsible for the analysis, reporting and execution of the pricing strategies in support of each type of Product and Company pricing financial goals and objectives. The position is responsible for supporting pricing integrity (price accuracy) between Key Customers and company across the entire pricing lifecycle including initial quote pricing development, promotional pricing, massive price Increases, pricing approvals and markdown/clearance pricing. The Pricing Analyst supports Sales Teams building off line pricing tools in line with financial margins and goals.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare pricing recommendations to the Sales Managers and Brokers according to define timelines that align with financial margins goals and ongoing opportunities for pricing strategies to drive sales, margin and market share
Continuously monitor, audit and analyze Customer price quote activity to assure alignment to margins to avoid systematic risks to release sales purchase order
Support the development and implementation of methodologies and price tests to validate value stream strategies
Ensure alignment of pricing strategies and plans based on resin category and Company Pricing objectives and
Policies
Evaluate the day-to-day pricing activities for Sysco Distributors, Analyze and communicate actual performance for Customize and Generic Company Items maintaining updated pricing files and determine if adjustments to strategy are needed
Maintain and Approve Pricing request from Sales Managers in pricing system platform
Provide fact-based analysis to Sales Managers in selecting pricing strategies/rules that result in increased sales, profit and/or market share
Work with and understand the supporting groups within the Company, Sales Manager, Sales Brokers, Customer Service
Other duties and Projects as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business or equivalent combination of education and experience related to basic financial analysis
Minimum of three years hands-on experience in pricing and analysis with a track record of success performing spreadsheet analyses, maintaining financial reports in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to collaboratively enforce policies and apply financial principles to a business transaction. You must also have the skills to gather relevant data; input and manipulate the data to allow for complete analysis and identification of potential issues
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites products including Outlook
Have the flexibility and willingness to meet varied hours during the end of the month
Ability to consider alternative courses of action to assure s prompt response to outstanding price quotes consistent with Company policy.
Skills strongly desired:

Working knowledge of SAP
Oral and written Communication
Deep troubleshooting skills
