Our client is a leading Canadian banking institution.

05/24/2017 to 11/24/2017

Pay Rate: $21/hr

Full-time: Mon-Fir, 8:30am-5:00pm

The position reports to the Team Lead, Global Trade Finance Operations and is responsible for the issuance of Import Letters of Credit and advising of Export Letter of Credit. The Senior Operations Officer will effectively manage their own work load on a day-to day operations ensuring optimal customer service and support/service to both internal and external partners.

• Responsible for the issuance and advising of Letters of Credit and amendments in accordance with established policies, procedures, appropriate ICC rules and regulatory guidelines.
• Co-ordinate with customers, account representatives and others as necessary to gain an understanding of clients’ business needs and to analyze information to determine appropriate terms for the LC.
• Monitors and scrutinizes all counterparties and transactional details. Escalates nonstandard or high risk transactions or other activities as per AML Due Diligence and Anti-Boycott Procedures as required.
• Provides consultation to internal partners/external customers in structuring and drafting Letters of Credit in accordance with Bank Policy and procedures, ICC rules and regulatory guidelines engaging all parties until a final draft is mutually agreed upon.
• Provides an excellent customer service through effective and consistent communication with all stakeholders
• Ensure that credit approvals are in place as per policy and procedure guidelines. Process export confirmation and payment undertaking requests which require appropriate Export Credit Agency (EDC, EXIM, IFC) risk mitigation, in accordance with ECA policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve both service delivery and support process improvement initiatives.

 

Job Requirements
• Good knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP 2013 and Incoterms 2010
• A Team player
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong communication and administrative skills
• Being well organized and have ability to work within stringent deadlines
• High level of accuracy and strict attention to details
• Ability to execute ad-hoc requests
• Fluently bilingual French and English an asset

Additional Information
• Bachelors degree in Business Administration or equivalent field an asset
