CNC Mills Set-up Operator

Our client is a leading plastic, paper, and aluminum food packaging products manufacturer, currently looking for a CNC Mills Set-up Operator. 

 

Location: Richmond Hill

Pay Rate: $25-29/hr, depending on experience

Position: Permanent position with great benefits

Must have: 6 to 10 years experience (preferably Aerospace industry experience or equivalent)

 

Position Summary: 

The CNC Operator is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of CNC equipment in accordance with the process plan to maximize through-put, in a timely manner and to the Engineering specifications.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1.)   Responsible for adherence to Safety policies, procedures, critical safety rules and participation in all require safety training.

2.)   Plan and organize CNC machining activities, in accordance with manufacturing process plans.

3.)   Cooperation, coordination & teamwork are paramount.

4.)   Select and order appropriate tooling for optimum cutting conditions using proper and efficient feeds and speeds for material conditions.

5.)   Interpret Engineering drawings and 3D data, designs, application and tolerance.

6.)   Design and manufacture jigs and fixtures as required.

7.)   Track and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of machining operations.

8.)   Coordinate schedule/priorities with CAD/CAM programmer and the Shop Supervisor

9.)   Verify “first-off” and that all machined components meet tolerances and quality requirements prior to moving components on to the next stage.

10.) Use CNC verification probes, confirm verification to design and record and report findings.

11.) Operates equipment in an efficient and effective manner.

12.) Complete preventative maintenance on CNC equipment according to the PM schedule.

13.) Maintains all working areas in accordance with company housekeeping standards

 

Special Knowledge and Skills: 

1.)   Read and Interpret Engineering models and drawings, dimensioning and tolerancing.

2.)   Experience and knowledge of capabilities and processes of CNC equipment.

3.)   Measuring metrology (use and calibration of measuring instruments)

4.)   Experience and knowledge of Set-up and operation of all CNC Machines.

5.)   Community college diploma

 

Working Conditions:

1.) CNC operation of equipment required including lifting of up to 40lbs and or the use of cranes/lifting equipment, in accordance with safe practices and policy
