HR Generalist

Our client is a food manufacturer located in East York. 

Full time, perm role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for the recruitment and selection of planned and approved new hires for positions 
  • Developed materials, delivered training and new hire orientations in areas of quality, food safety, people safety, and Company values, to ensure employees are able to perform their job to company, customer and legal expectations.
  • Responsible for the development, communication and enforcement of Human Resources and Safety policies including Company Values, Vacation, Attendance, Leave of Absence, Orientation, and set consistent standards and expectations.
  • Scheduling and Payroll
  • Plant health and safety coordinator with the responsibility to develop safety policies, programs and oversee the safety committee.
  • Assist all WSIB claims and developed a return to work program; ensuring injured employees had no lost time, and minimize the financial impact to the employee and Company.

Qualifications/Experience/Education

  • Bachelor/College degree (or higher) required in area of discipline
  • 3 - 5 years experience in Human Resources
  • Demonstrate track record of achieving success with the ability to multi-task under pressure, meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of WSIB
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience in Scheduling and Payroll is an asset
  • Detailed and Energetic
