Human Resources Manager

Our client is one of the world's largest bearing supplier to both the industrial and automotive markets. 

We are looking for an HR Manager to join the company.

 

Job Duties: 

  • Work directly with the union to build strong relationships, and to effectively resolve labour relation issues
  • Implement labour relations strategies that meet the needs of the organization
  • Responsble for grievances, and ensure each is resolved in a timely manner
  • Conduct work place investigations, and prepare reports with outcomes and recommendations
  • Assist in the negotiation of the collective agreement
  • Assist the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist with WSIB claims
  • Coordinate all aspects of recruitment, including job postings, sourcing recruitment methods, interviewing candidates, reference checks and providing employment offers
  • Maintain the Rewards and Recognition Programs
  • Benefits administration, including processing enrollments/termination and changes to benefit plans, answering employee inquiries
  • Administer short term and long term disability claims
  • Process and track performance reviews that will impact the annual and progression increases
  • HR metrics reports i.e, head count, grievances, turnover and other ad hoc reports
  • Provide management with guidance on employment legislation and collective agreement interpretation

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must have over 5 years progressive human resources experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Must have experience working within a unionized environment
  • Exposure to grievance procedures, employee/labour relations, union negotiation, recruitment, performance management, benefits administration and claims management
  • Knowledge of labour relaitions and payroll legislation
  • Demonstrated strong time management skills, ability to multi task
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of staff
  • University degree/Certification in Human Resources Management with CHRP designation
