Business Analyst SAP FICO_Markham

Our client is a leading Automotive Manufacturing company.

We are looking a Business Analysis – Finance (FI/CO) working at the corporate head office in Markham.

 

Scope of Position :

Working at the corporate headoffice, will be responsible for supporting, designing, testing applications and then training the user community on the business applications that the company uses corporate wide.  This BA position acts as the first & second line of support to the local user community and will escalate issues to the development team to fix.  Assist with the design, testing, documentation and implementation of new SAP configuration and system enhancements.

This Canadian company is in the process of implementing SAP (11 companies in total) and we are in need of a FICO person who can contribute to the SAP roll out team and at the same time, help support the existing SAP rollouts.  We are looking for a team player and a person with excellent communication and organization skills.

In addition to the SAP implementations, the company has it’s own propriatary software (web apps + shop floor system) that need to be maintained and supported. 

This BA role, includes 24hr support of all the company systems (in addition to SAP).  


Key Responsibilities:

a)     Be a part of the SAP implementation team and help with the system roll out to all remaining the company locations

b)     Support finance with their month-end, year-end activities

c)     Support finance with the planning & budgeting cycle within SAP

d)     Maintain & configure FICO modules

e)     Proficient in product costing (both standard and moving average)

f)      Proficient in investigating material variances and have the ability to explain why & where the variance is coming from

g)     Good understanding of manufacturing process and support divisions with product costing issues

h)     Team lead for COPA and ensure all appropriate characteristics have been selected

i)      Ensure SAP data is accurate and errors are identified and cleaned.  Support and train in specific areas of SAP to help users with their day-to-day duties.  Assist controllers with any cleanup of data issues resulting from the month end reporting

j)      Support & train users on the IMS (Inventory management system).  Help identify any deficiencies in IMS and work with development to ensure enhancements are implemented in a timely manner and the user community is trained on the new functionality.

k)     Provide training to various departments to ensure their understanding of the systems that they are required to use. (i.e. Departmental Management – Finance, Purchasing, Materials, Finance, Quality, AQP & Production) 

l)      Review submitted requests for changes; evaluate what if any impact it may have to other programs, processes, departments or divisions.   Assist in presenting system improvements to the division(s).  Verify new system updates work correctly

m)    Responsible for translating technical documentation and user guides into local language.

n)     Help develop and implement “best practices” to the local plant to ensure the most “optimum” operation.

o)     Adopt and practice Kaizen Principles, Concepts and participate in Gear activities

p)     Analyze and investigate issues that are identified by the division(s).  Provide leadership, direction and hands-on support to help resolve departmental issues.

q)     Perform other duties as deemed necessary by Business System Manager

r)      Participate in the monthly and yearly weekend system maintenance.

s)     Participate in 24/7 after hour support.

 

Basic Requirements :

·         University or College degree – Accounting related preferred

·         Finance experience in manufacturing environment

·         Understanding of database design & queries

·         Able to use SQL, MySQL, MS Office suite

·         Analytical and problem solving skills

·         Ability to communicate with all levels of employees within a multicultural environment

·         EDI knowledge – nice to have

·         General knowledge of the automotive industry and the functions that are required (QS9000, EDI, Lot Trace, Manufacturing processes).
