Merchant Sales Specialist

Our client is a leading Canadian bank. 

English is $20.00/hr and Bilingual is $21.02/hr

01/09/2017 to 10/29/2017

Nice to have: Bilingual in French, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean or Vietnamese and Knowledge of the industry.

Training: for the first 5 days its new hire procedures, 3-4 weeks of training and working in a team of about 22.

Calls are both Inbound (follow up return calls, transfer calls) and making Outbound calls

Job Description:


Reporting to the Team Manager, Sales, the Merchant Sales Specialist role will be accountable for the execution of sales through internal and external leads to support the growth, retention and profitability of franchise able banking customers. This position will also be responsible for responding to customer inquiries on our products & services.

Candidates will be assigned a list of leads to convert clients and sell products to suit their needs, required to meet monthly (phone metrics/revenue targets/goals/boarded sales/revenue conversions and branch sold deals).

Must have skills: Sales exp, Call centre environment exp, Customer Service, Reliable, Great attitude, team player but has the ability to also work independently, Highly organized and self driven. Client looking for a candidate that wants to succeed, has the Drive and Passion and wants to be a contributor to the team and culture.

• Create a legendary customer experience at every interaction and look for ways to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the overall merchant customer experience
• Help drive our LEI/CEI program results and demonstrate our Comfort Promise
Financial Results:

• Possess strong financial acumen and have the ability to quickly analyze the customer’s existing MS metrics and competitive offerings while not significantly compromising the margins of the account
• Present solutions that enable and support the merchant and to attain business metrics and/or save results
• Take advantage of all opportunities to sell Merchant Services products and services by proactively acting on customer needs.

Operational Results and Risk Management:

• Able to multitask in a fast pace environment.
• Achieve planned adherence and average handle time goals to ensure service levels are achieved
• Ensure administrative and call quality control is completed at an above average level.
• Elevate through the proper channels and manage the completion all related Pricing requests within established timeliness
• Ensure to follow up on customer concerns within a timely fashion.

• Knowledge of Merchant Services industry.
• Working knowledge of practices and procedures as related to Visa Canada.
