Our client is a leading manufacturer in automotive parts industry.
3 day per week temporary position for approximately 6 – 12 months.
Pay rate: $17/hr, location: Richmond Hill, ON
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Accounts Payable Clerk reports to the A/R, A/P Supervisor and is responsible for day to day accounts payable transactions, preparing customer payments and responding to supplier inquiries.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
· Match supplier invoices to appropriate documents, and validate total cost and appropriate approvals
· Enter invoices in AccPac
· Prepare payments to suppliers.
· Filing of paid invoices.
· Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
· Comply with all ISO/TS16949 policies and procedures.
· Comply with all ISO14001 policies and procedures.
· Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by your supervisor or management.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Educational Requirements: High School Graduate with post-secondary education in Accounting or equivalent would be an asset.
· Minimum Experience/Field: Minimum 2-3 years related experience in a computerized accounting environment.
· Courses Required: AccPac for Windows
· Computer Skills: Intermediate Excel, understanding of ERP systems (Trans4M knowledge an asset), knowledge of AccPac for Windows, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
· Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills in English
CORE COMPETENCIES FOR THIS POSITION:
· Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures- particularly those that relate to accounts payable.
· Knowledge of computerized accounting systems and applications including the use of personal computers and general software applications.
· Maintaining accounts payable folders in an organized manner.
