CNC Machinest

Our client is a leading bearing manufacturer for automotive industry. 

Full time, rotating shifts, hourly base with benefit and union environment 

Position Summary:


CNC Machinist are primarily responsible for the production of parts and assemblies that meet customer requirements in quality and output in a safe fashion

Requirements:
·       5+ years of experience in a machinist role

·       Previous experience working with tight tolerances

·       Understanding of G & M codes is essential

·       Mastercam Programming Proficiency is a must

 

Job Description:
·       Program, set-up and operate a variety of machining equipment, including but not limited to: CNC lathe, CNC mill, conventional lathe, conventional mill, etc.

·       Program, set-up and operate machines to meet customer requirements in output and quality

·       Follow work instructions, drawings, established quality standards, and established safety protocols

·       Works to close tolerances and select speeds, feeds and tools for varying conditions according to reference manuals or materials for machine set ups and repair

Ensure machine is running at maximum efficiency and quality
·       Conducts basic inspection according to inspection sheet to meet client specifications

·       Observes operation and verifies conformance of machined work pieces to specifications using measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers

·       Investigate problem parts and seek solutions with Engineering.

·       Performs preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting

·       Pull materials and put materials away

·       Programs and operates machine equipment in accordance with training and safety procedures

·       Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies and procedures

·       Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by

·       Must notify lead hand and/or supervisors of all dysfunctional and/or unsafe equipment or work practices
All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
·       Ability to read, analyze, and interpret; product drawings, technical requirements, customer specifications and program code for major CNC machine controllers

·       Ability to work independently or with supervision

·       Ability to develop manufacturing process sequences and prepare efficient CNC programs

·       Ability to develop new tooling concepts and implement them into production

Ability to do all shop math functions associated with setup and inspection procedures
·       Able to lift, load and handle various size production parts up to and including 50 pounds on a regular basis

·       Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills

·       Must be computer literate

·       Experience with Metal Fabrication an asset

·       Experience with machine software, such as Mazak and Fanuc Controls, is required

·       Experience with Mazatrol and G Code

·       Experience on CNC Vertical Mill or Machine Center, CNC Lathe or Turning Center. Manual lathe and milling machine an asset

·       Ability to handle small tools, power tools, and equipment
