HR Generalist_Mississauga

Our client is a leading manufacturer for automotive parts in North America.

Salary is $60-70k. working hour: 8:30am to 4:30pm, permenant 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Member of health and safety committee.
Coordinate all aspects of recruitment, including job postings, sourcing recruitment methods, interviewing candidates, reference checks and providing employment offers.
Orientation and documentation of new employees.
Provide managers with guidance on corrective action/attendance.
Maintain Rewards and Recognition Programs
Benefits administration, including processing enrollments and changes to benefit plans, answering employee inquiries, processing benefit billings and liaising with benefit carriers.
Administer short term and long term disability claims.
Process and track annual increases and progression increases.
Ensure authorization forms are completed for any employment related changes, process and liaise with payroll.
Completing reports i.e, head count, grievances, short term and other ad hoc reports.
Assist in the negotiation of collective agreements.
Conduct exit interviews.
Maintain Seniority Lists.Provide management and employees with guidance on employee relations practices, human resourcesnpolicies, employment legislation and collective agreement interpretation.
Develop and maintain procedures aimed at improving the quality and delivery of human resources programs/services.
Coordinating annual years of service program.
Answering employees questions regarding benefits.
Preparing employment letters.
Entering employee information into Ceridian.
Preparing corrective action letters.
Assist with grievances Step 1 and Steep 2.
Providing back up to payroll including WSIB claims management.
Chair social committee meetings and organize events..
Ensure authorization forms are completed for any employment related changes, process and liaise with payroll.
Demonstrate safe work practices and follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
Immigration letters assist with expats paper work from Japan
Prepare presentations for Director of HR
Prepare presentations for all crew meetings (HR presents)
Meeting minutes – responsible to transcribe, document and distribute meeting minutes from select appointments
Train new and existing employees on all policies


Education

University degree/Certification in Human Resources Management with CHRP designation.
Experience

Three to five years progressive human resources experience in a unionized environment, including employee/labour relations,recruitment, performance management, benefits administration and claims management.

Skills and Knowledge

working knowledge of labour relations, recruitment, benefits administration, payroll, claims management
knowledge of employment and payroll legislation
ability to deal with confidential information and sensitive situations
demonstrated time management skills, ability to multi task
excellent written and verbal communication skills.
interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of staff
intermediate knowledge of MS Office (excel, word, power point)
knowledge of safe work practices
