Maintenance Mechanic - Electrician

Our client is a leading international designer, manufacturer and marketer of mid- to high-end office systems and related furniture products.

Afternoon shift: 3:30pm to 12:00am (Monday to Friday)

Key responsibilities will be:
1) Assist and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineer and Engineering Coordinators to apply continuous improvement projects to support production
2) Ensure that all equipment on the Production floor are functioning as required
3) Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all machinery including but not limited to CNC machines, Paint Line, brake presses, punch presses, and conveyors. This may involve the use of manual or powered hand tools, and occasionally welding equipment
4) Perform activities related to the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) schedule
5) Minor electrical troubleshooting including, but not limited to, motors and fuses
6) Design/Re-design/Modify machinery and equipment including but not limited to material handling devices, machine guarding, and gauges.
7) Maintain a safe and clean work area
8) Other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications:
1) College diploma as an Industrial Mechanic or the equivalent in education, training, and/or experience
2) Licensed Electrician
3) Licensed Millwright would be considered an asset
4) Experienced knowledge of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and Automation a must
5) Knowledge of manufacturing processes to include but not limited to CNC, Brake Press, metal cutting, welding, pneumatic applications etc.
6) Knowledge of machine functions and capabilities
7) Forklift license – counterbalance and/or scissor lift – would be considered an asset
8) Ability to read shop floor/engineering/assembly drawings
9) Basic knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code, OHSA, TSSA, and WHMIS
10) Manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and positive attitude
11) Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures

Hourly pay rate: $27.50/hour, $0.50/hour for afternoon shift premium
