Payroll Administrator (PCP Required) in Scarborough

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company in Scarborough is urgently hiring for Payroll Administrator to join the team.

Working location: Warden and St. Clair (Near Warden subway station). 

As the Payroll Administrator, you will lead in coaching plant leaders and team members in the full range of people practices, policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application. This position is onsite and is required to be flexible to accommodate varying shifts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for full cycle bi-weekly payroll for salary and hourly (350 employees)
  • Review time and attendance using ADP Workforce Now
  • Working knowledge of ADP Work Force Now software or Ceridian
  • Track vacation, sick and lieu days for all employees
  • Prepare labour costs reports and payroll reports
  • Approve agency timesheets and invoices
  • Administer benefit plan with Canada Life and pension plan
  • Assist in new hire, on boarding, orientation, and termination
  • Perform all other payroll and some HR functions and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or a similar degree or related experience
  • 3 to 5 years related experience in Human Resources, in a mid-sized manufacturing environment or warehouse.
  • Must have PCP designation and work experience with either ADP or Ceridian system
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation specific to Ontario. (i.e.) Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to deal with and diffuse difficult situations and personalities
  • Strong ability to communicate well with team and influence at various levels
  • Strong understanding and ability to institutionalize HR policies/procedures and Team Member relations
  • Ability to take the initiative, analyze and problem solve.
  • Experience leading employee investigations skills and making sound recommendations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment where you have to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Proven competency in the operation of key office software and productivity tools such as: MS Office suite of tools, working knowledge of an HRIS. (ADP Workforce Now)
