Production Supervisor-Mississauga

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will lead and coordinate activities of all production team members involved in the manufacturing of coffee. Ensure KPI’s are met including safety, quality and efficiency, etc. MAJOR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS •Develop manpower planning and utilization programs to satisfy planned requirements, including scheduling of overtime and the effectiveness of temporary employees. •Ensure safety standards being adhered to and perform safety inspections within their area of responsibility (monthly) •Promptly investigates/ reports and follows through with any incident in area of responsibility and performs safety, information talks with crews (monthly) •Establish and monitor procedures set in place for lines such as SOP’s, ensure they are being adhered to, communicated with, listened to and advise all personnel •Monitor and evaluate designated machines, suggest and implement changes in work conditions to increase efficiency and safety •Coach workers in resolving manufacturing issues related to safety, quality, and productivity losses •Maintain good employee relations and adherence to company policies and procedures. Takes proper measures such as disciplinary when required •Ensure employees are trained •Prepares all vacation and weekly shift schedules •Perform employee performance reviews on a regular basis review job postings and interview personnel •Monitor and arrange maintenance requirements and replacement parts as needed •Conduct trials as requested •Monitor and schedule sanitation of the processing area as needed •Coach and develop best practices ie. Focus groups, continuous improvement activities •Perform other work related tasks as assigned SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS •Post secondary degree or certificate •5 years experience in a production supervisory capacity preferably in the food industry •Experience in high speed packaging machines •Computer literate •Familiar with Kronos •WHMIS and first aid certified •Knowledge of GMP, ESA and OH&S •Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities •Excellent people and communication skills •Excellent leadership and coaching skills •Knowledge of food safety programs and quality audits •Capable of dealing with stressful situations and working long hours on a regular basis Night Shift: 6:00pm-6:15am OT Required Salary: $70K – $75K depending on experience How to apply: Send your resume to resume2014@gc-employment.com with the subject "Production Supervisor-Mississauga"
