Industrial Millwright / Maintenance Mechanic

Our client, a fast-growing engineering resources company, is hiring an Industrial Millwright to join the team.

The Millwright is responsible for installing or dismantling machinery and equipment according to company plans, blueprints, and other diagrams. This will be accomplished through the safe and effective use of hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools. This position also requires that the
Millwright troubleshoots and diagnoses mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment. The Millwright is also responsible for repairing malfunctioning equipment, such as motors, pumps, valves, controls, and other machines.

  • Must have a valid Industrial Mechanic Millwright License (Red Seal preferred).
  • Working Location: Barrie, ON.
  • Straight Day shift

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate and perform preventative maintenance on injection moulds and equipment.
  • Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Maintain all production and related equipment; modify existing equipment; and install new equipment/services.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system faults, tune equipment, ensure adequate control and security measures are established and enforced.
  • Reporting machinery issues. Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workplace environment.
  • Assist in the maintaining of inventory levels in all maintenance stock cabinets. Process needed requisitions for purchasing as required.
  • Perform all PM’s as distributed.
  • Be available for weekend work/overtime as required.

Job Requirments:

  • Must have a valid Industrial Mechanic Millwright License 433A.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar industry.
  • Highly flexible (in working time), with solid interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using PLC’s is an asset.
  • Injection moulding or extrusion experience preferred.
  • Firm understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics schematics.
  • Good knowledge of machine shop practices and welding experience.
  • Well-developed communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities.
  • Proven experience in the maintenance of facilities equipment and Plant equipment.
