Line Mechanic

Our client is a leading Consumer Packaged Goods manufacturing company, provides a wide range of contract manufacturing services for companies looking to outsource various products such as pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and other personal care products.

Currently, we are seeking Line Mechanics to join the team as soon as possible.

• Working in Etobicoke, ON
• Monday to Friday, Full-time on-going
• All shifts available, straight Day, Afternoon or Nightshift
• Competitive compensation based on experience

POSITION SCOPE:

The role of the Packaging Mechanic includes responsibility for ensuring that all equipment remains in good working condition. It is also to ensure that Preventative Maintenance is performed and documented on all machinery on a regular basis to ensure efficient production operations.

JOB DUTIES:

• Responsible for working with High-Speed Packaging Lines – breakdown maintenance, proactive maintenance, repair and overhaul.
• Operation of a production line, maintain specified target weights, torques, and overall product quality at all times. Complete any
  necessary documentation.
• Achieve standard production outputs with standard crewing.
• Work with Team Leader and entire production team to ensure an efficient and safe work environment.
• Troubleshoot all minor mechanical difficulties during the course or production.
• Maintain a clean and safe production line or work area at all times. Comply with and enforce plant Safety Standards, Good Manufacturing
• Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and all other plant policies.
• Has the ability to changeover the production line from one product to another
• Clean and sanitize all packaging equipment
• Help with any and all jobs on the packaging line when required.
• Develop and encourage a high level of employee involvement and continuous improvement.
• Perform and record preventive maintenance on all packaging equipment on a regular and timely basis, where required. Cleans, maintains and cares for all packaging equipment
• Must have knowledge of GMP and customer requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 1 year relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of packaging line set up, adjustment and maintenance.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to visually concentrate for extended periods of time.
• Able to stand, lift and carry consistently for eight hours.
• Constant interaction with a variety of chemicals and chemical products.
