Director of HR and Talent Management Lead

Our client, a leading manufacturer of cosmetics and skin care, is looking for a Director of HR and Talent Management Lead. This role reports to the Executive Director, HRBP (Canada Lead) for Supply Chain & Research & Development, and is the most senior HRBP role on the team. The critical role is accountable for partnering with the broader Canada Supply Chain Operations and Functional Leadership teams it supports to develop strategies and initiatives designed to enhance organizational effectiveness and support business growth. 

 

Full-time, perm role

Location: Markham, ON

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 8+ years of years of experience in a strategic HR role
  • Experience leading or having strong participation in a major change or transformation projects and organizational design changes
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills with multi-tasking abilities
  • Strong background in creating and executing HR strategy, organizational design, employee relations, and talent management programs 
  • Proven record in management and navigation in a complex matrix organization and in building collaborative relationships with all levels of leaders and employees in both a corporate and non-corporate setting
  • Experience leading a team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to recognize trends and develop recommendations based on data analysis
  • Critical thinking and ability to handle complexity
  • Ability to leverage a diverse workforce and create an inclusive high touch employee experience

 

Summary: The HRBP Director will serve as an advocate for employees in the Canada Supply Chain and will develop and implement change initiatives designed to enhance employee engagement, and talent development. This role is a unique blend of strategic thought leadership and execution, allowing the right individual to have a significant and meaningful contribution to the business results and the employee experience. This role is required to have a strong strategic and tactical capability and is relied on for counsel, leadership, execution, innovation and results that fully enable the Canada operations and functions to meet their strategic and organizational priorities.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support strategic transformational projects including being the People Pillar lead for our current Strategic Transformational Supply Chain Project to expand Canada Operations
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with the Canada Supply Chain team and offer thought leadership and provide strategic advice and counsel regarding organizational and people-related strategies
  • Talent Management Lead for the Supply Chain & Research & Development Sites in Canada and working in partnership with the HRBP team to drive our talent management programs
  • Managing, coaching and developing a team a 3 (including 2 HRBP Generalists, and 1 Talent Acquisition/Recruitment Coordinator)
  • Provide insightful data to guide decision making and provide proactive solutions
  • Solve problems and get to the root cause of any issue, no matter how simple or complex, and design and quickly implement solutions, even those beyond people and organizational issues
  • Develop HR/people oriented programs to positively impact change and employee engagement; understand and solicit employee opinions and anticipate their needs and concerns
  • Partner with business leaders and HR colleagues to identify and set short and long term HR metrics based on business plans and local business goals
  • Drive change by developing and strategically leading large-scale people and/or change management initiatives including business transformations, organization design/evolution/development
  • Partner with business leaders and HR colleagues in the creation of communication strategy, including drafting communications
  • Assess training needs aligned with business needs and partner with business, cross functional and HR colleagues to develop and implement virtual and in person training to foster staff development and maximize employee engagement
  • Promote HR process standardization and process improvement based on feedback from leaders, managers, and employees
  • Provide expertise in performance management, coaching, data analysis, employee relations, learning and development, recognition programs and strategic development
