Plant Controller (Automotive)

Our client, a leading manufacturer of automotive parts, is looking for a Plant Controller for their facility in Etobicoke.

Full-time, perm role. 

Salary: up to $130K

Requirements: 

• University Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 5+ years related experience in manufacturing
• Prior Controller experience in Automotive Tier 1 manufacturing with solid background in cost accounting
• Experience with a large ERP system
• Ability to evaluate, plan, analyze and make viable decisions in a dynamic work environment
• CPA/CMA/CGA designation preferred

Summary: The Plant Controller will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial information, analysis and advice. The candidate must be a strategic leader and a mentor of staff with strengths in identifying financial improvements and implementing short- and long-term strategies concerning profitability, efficiency and other matters.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for accounting & financial activities, reporting, forecasting and budgeting.
• Assist plant management in decision making process that allows for profit maximization.
• Implement procedures to ensure all company financial policies are followed and adequate internal controls are in place.
• Oversee general accounting, inventory control, standard costing, fixed assets and tooling.
• Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasting.
• Monitor, approve and analyse plant spending, capital and tooling projects and working capital management.
• Work closely with the General Manager and plant personnel assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
• Support CI initiatives, ensuring projects are defined with clear financial objectives and results are tracked and reported accordingly.
• Prepare monthly and periodic financial reports and analysis for submission to Corporate Management and perform local financial analysis for plant management.
