Assembly Group Leader

Our client, a leading manufacturer of automotive parts, is looking for a Group Leader for their Assembly department. The Group Leader will be responsible for supervising Team Leaders and shift Production Technician in meeting production requirements by ensuring that the proper quantity and quality of parts are being finished and standards maintained. 

 

Full-time, perm role.

Location: Etobicoke, ON

 

Requirements:

  • Blow Moulding or Paint experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership/supervisory skills
  • Proactive in making recommendations for improvements to the equipment and processes.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
  • Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 Quality Management System
  • Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 Customer Specific Requirements

 

Job Responsibilies:

  • Ensuring that employees have sufficient job training and information to efficiently perform their tasks in terms of both quality and quantity with frequent follow-ups after initiation.
  • Participate in the team effort of the quality control inspector and supervisor to maintain a smooth flow of production parts of the highest quality.
  • To report any equipment malfunction immediately.
  • Rectifying quality problems by discussing situation with the Quality/Production Manager and shift Group Leader to decide on action to be taken.
  • Ensuring the Technicians are performing to job standard
  • Monitoring scrap rate efficiency so that it does not exceed established limits.  If it does exceed established limits advise production/Paint Manager immediately and decide on course of action to be taken.
  • Actively participate in production meetings to determine production requirements.
  • Delegate work assignments to the Technicians ensuring complete understanding so that quality standards and customer delivery dates are met.
  • Making recommendations on required changes to existing and new tooling and prototypes, ensuring better quality parts and fewer rejects.
  • Monitoring department and taking whatever corrective action is necessary to maintain production standards
  • Monitor efficiency standards and take whatever corrective action is necessary in order that they meet the set standard.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO14001
  • Implement, lead, and participate in continuous improvement activities.
