Our client, a fast growing beauty company is looking for a senior regulatory affairs manager to join thier team, who will be focus on Compliance: Health and Safety.
Location: Toronto, ON.
Salary: Up to 85K
Knowledge, expertise, duties:
- Excellent and detailed knowledge of CEPA, the Hazardous Product Regulations, and the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations.
- Experience in the authoring of Safety Data Sheets and WHMIS 2015 labels in English and French.
- Experience with SDS authoring software implementation.
- Experience communicating with regulatory authorities and suppliers and delivering resolutions to any obstacles encountered.
- Experience in the preparation and submission of NPRI reports.
- Experience in the submission and shepherding of New Substance Notifications.
- Understanding of EU and US health and safety regulations.
- Understanding of municipal waste management regulations and requirements.
- Working knowledge of French (written and oral) an asset.
- Good documentation practices.
Interpersonal skills:
- Extremely well organized.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with departments to implement changes or new systems.
- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop staff.
Experience:
- 10+ years working with Canadian regulatory requirements including national, provincial, and municipal regulations.
- Understanding of the cosmetics industry is an asset.
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, toxicology, or a related field is required.
- Previous certification in WHMIS and TDG regulations.
