Corporate HRM / Corporate Human Resources Manager

Our client is a world leader in vertically integrated plastic processing, leading Automotive Tier 1 supplier.

Currently, we are looking for a Senior HR Manager to join the corporate team, provides human resources generalist support to corporate and Business Unit client groups and leads/supports the execution of special projects in the areas of talent management, performance management, employee engagement, and learning and development.

  • Reporting to the Regional Human Resources Director
  • Base salary: $110-115K
  • Bonus Target: 15%
  • Working in North York, ON
  • A very hands-on role, looking for an individual that wants to come in and work on solutions, upgrades, etc.

Job Duties: 

  • Acts as an advisor to all leaders by providing guidance, direction and advice on employment related issues, performance management, employee engagement, compensation, learning and development
  • Provides consultative support to leaders relating to hiring decisions including analysis of pre-hire assessments
  • Creates an effective workforce planning strategy to ensure that the right talent is in place to support business objectives
  • Assists in the development, implementation and communication of HR policies, programs and processes and coaches/guides leaders to ensure proper execution
  • Partners with leaders to enhance employee experience through the development and execution of specific engagement, onboarding and/or immersion programs, post-hire interviews, and check-ins with employees
  • Coordinates and ensures that HR records comply with applicable legislation and company practices (i.e., employment contracts, personal information, etc.)
  • Assesses company culture to identify opportunities and provides recommendations/solutions to ensure that company goals and objectives are achieved 
  • Track reporting of turnover and implement action plans when required
  • Collaborates with department heads, senior management and plant HR Managers to execute talent review and succession planning programs to ensure that qualified bench strength is identified for critical roles and adequate developmental plans are in place
  • Supports the identification and growth of leadership through formal/informal development programs
  • Partners with business leaders to diagnose learning and development needs, identifies solutions, and implements programs to improve business/employee performance
  • Maintains documentation for HR Department in accordance with identified quality management system (i.e., TS16949) including training matrixes and records for corporate employees

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree specializing in Human Resources (or related field)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in progressively responsible HR generalist positions
  • Minimum 5 years of HR Management experience
  • Previous experience with recruitment and selection, employee relations, compensation, performance and total rewards
  • Ability to think strategically to ensure programs, policies and practices are linked and reinforce overall organizational goals
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
  • Exceptional commitment to customer service with demonstrated ability to build relationships with colleagues at various levels of the organization (i.e., senior leaders, managers and employees)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CHRP designation or working towards is an asset
  • Previous experience working in manufacturing is preferred
  • Experience handling immigration and work authorization matters in a business environment highly desirable
