Production Supervisor

Our client, a leading automotive parts manufacturer is looking for a Production Supervisor to join their team. Reporting to the Production Manager and providing strong support to their maintenance department. 

Full-time, Permanente position after the probation. 

Schedule: Night shift, 11 pm to 7 am

Location: Vaughan 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Education equivalent to the completion of Grade 10 (GED)
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in manufacturing, in the automotive industry. 
  • Previous Supervisory experience preferred
  • Preferably 1 year related automotive welding, stamping and/or assembly experience. 
  • Must have programming experience 

Preferably had: 

  • Good hand and eye coordination
  • Must be able to read, speak and write English
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and understand In-process inventory as well as raw material inventory.
  • Must be team oriented
  • Must have proven leadership skills and be able to effectively take charge when faced with conflict or challenges
  • Ability to provide training to production associates.
  • Must be willing to participate in training (i.e. First Aid, Leadership, other)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work all shifts/ support weekend overtime requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Obtain daily production requirements.
  • Ability to read In-process inventory as well as raw material inventory.
  • Must participate in plant meetings and continuous improvement
  • Take initiative to encourage a clean, orderly and safe working environment throughout the plant.
  • Train and support personnel as required to continually develop skills and improve performance.
  • Continue to operate production equipment daily and assist production supervisor in maintaining production and plant
    standards.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and motivation to take the initiative and do what needs to be done.
  • Lead the Maintenance, Production and Quality teams, delegating duties as required to promote production goals.
  • Make decisions in the absence of the Supervisor Perform set-ups in an organized and timely manner.
  • Support prototype builder and activities for new programs
  • Develop welding programs to support new programs
  • Troubleshoot welding machines and program launches and optimize production efficiencies
  • Troubleshoot welding machines and programs to identify and correct production related issues
  • Understand and adhere to plant rules and regulations
  • Promote cleanliness and 5S principles
  • Complete In-process Tags
  • Follow first-off and last off procedures
  • Keep work stations clean and orderly
  • Follow safety regulations at work environment
  • Other responsibilities assigned by management
  • All other duties as required.
