Financial Analyst

A premium bakery company is looking for Financial Analyst to join the team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyze and report in a timely basis the weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by sku, category, business unit and by customer;
  • Analyzes actual costs versus standard costs, budgets and prepares reports of variances
  • Analyze Gross profit margin by line by product and understanding variances
  • Strategic planning on savings, ideas for high ROI spending
  • Maintain and update pricing files for all key customer accounts
  • Review, analyze and ensure validity of inventory and margin reports, assist with cycle count/physical inventories, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability
  • Partners with various cross-functional departments within the plant and corporate office in strategic project management efforts to compute the unit cost of product from labor, material and overhead costs, batch conversion analysis, waste management, etc.
  • Assist plant production planning and plant operations management in evaluating cost effective solutions related to operational efficiencies
  • Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls
  • Detail oriented, flexible, punctual, able to work well in a fast-paced and multi-cultural environment
  • Work in special projects and other duties as required

 

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA designation a must
  • Strong Information technology experience
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 3 or more years of related experience in a financial and/or cost analyst function and specifically within a CPG manufacturing/production line environment
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP)
  • Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis; Demonstrated advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Sage Business Vision and other ERP systems would be an asset
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data and formulate recommendations and present findings and ability to create and manage complex excel spreadsheets efficiently and accurately.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of plant operations and its product lines by working in a cross functional capacity in the product development process.
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts
  • Detail oriented, punctual, strong organizational and communicational skills
  • Food Industry background preferred
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously under minimal supervision and shifting priorities
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality
